PocketPutter
Support
PocketPutter turns your iPhone into an overhead putting analyzer — mount it above a golf ball, putt off screen, and see your face-to-path angle, ball speed, and roll-out distance. Get it on the App Store.
Requirements
- iPhone 13 or later (the analysis needs the 240fps camera).
- iOS 16.4 or later.
- A golf ball and a flat surface — carpet, mat, or green.
Quick setup
- Mount the phone 1.5–4 ft above the ground, camera pointing straight down, with the camera end of the phone toward you. A small tripod or a table edge works.
- Rest a golf ball on a flat surface so it sits inside the on-screen box.
- Putt the ball off the screen — the app captures the stroke and shows your results.
Common questions
Why do I see “Device Not Supported” on my iPhone 12 or older?
PocketPutter measures your stroke from 240fps slow-motion video. iPhone 12 and earlier models don’t support the sustained 240fps camera capture the analysis needs, so an iPhone 13 or newer is required.
Why does the screen flip upside-down when I start putting?
In the mount, the phone hangs face-down with the camera end toward you — so the app rotates the camera screens 180° to read upright from where you stand. The app launches the normal way around for browsing in hand, flips automatically when a camera view opens, and the floating rotate button in the corner flips it back any time you pick the phone up.
The app isn’t detecting my ball. What can I do?
- Add light — even, bright lighting helps the camera find the ball. The torch option in Settings helps in dim rooms.
- Check the height — keep the phone within 1.5–4 ft of the ball so it fills enough of the frame.
- Use a plain surface — a solid-colored mat or carpet with good contrast against a white ball works best; busy patterns and glare make detection harder.
- Center the ball in the on-screen box and hold still until it locks on.
How do I restore a PocketPutter Pro purchase?
Open Settings inside the app and tap Restore Purchases in the PocketPutter Pro section. Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple Account you originally purchased with.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Use the Manage subscription link in the app’s Settings, or open your App Store account settings and choose Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid renewal; the 7-day free trial converts to a paid year unless cancelled before it ends.
Where is my data stored?
Everything stays on your phone. PocketPutter is fully offline — it collects nothing and sends nothing. See the Privacy Policy for details. You can erase all practice data any time from Settings → Data.
